The Parklane Group show their appreciation of a Leeds icon; Leeds United manager, Marcelo Bielsa.

The Parklane Group are huge fans of Leeds United and wanted to pay tribute to the heroic efforts of Leeds United’s manager, Marcelo Bielsa. They felt the most fitting way was to develop a truly iconic piece of artwork with the help of street artist Tankpetrol (@tankpetrol).

Marcelo Bielsa has guided his Leeds United team back to the Premier League following 16 years spent outside the top flight of football.

The masterpiece, which is 90 square meters, can be seen in a prominent location, on Hyde Park corner in Headingley, Leeds. It took some time to decide on the perfect location but Bielsa’s new home will allow a huge number of people in Leeds to appreciate and admire the tribute.

The Bielsa quote featured on the artwork reads “A man with new ideas is a madman, until his ideas triumph”. This philosophy resonates with The Parklane Group who do things differently and strive for perfection.

The Parklane Group are a well known business in Leeds and always look to support the city through charity work, job creation and training. The Group have been huge supporters of Leeds United for many years, both on and off the pitch. Not only are the whole senior team (and many of their employees) dedicated Leeds United fans, the business has worked closely with the club to support them off the pitch. Naveen Ahmed, Managing Director of The Parklane Group speaks passionately about the artwork created ‘’After 16 years, we’re back where we belong in the Premier League. We felt it was only right to pay tribute to the superb style of play that Bielsa has introduced to Leeds United which has engaged so many people in the city. We are so thankful and really wanted to give something back to the city, players and Marcelo himself. Marching on together!’’

Tankpetrol’s name was inspired by his previous history of driving tanks for the Polish army, and since then he has become a renowned street artist in northern England. He comments “It has been an honour to work on such a high profile building. Over the week that I have been working on the project I have seen the excitement the art is already bringing to the people of Leeds. I hope that this will be a landmark for years to come”.
