£10million investment given the green light
Aparthotel chain Roomzzz is set to make its mark in Harrogate on the Great Yorkshire Showground site, following a successful appeal against a refusal of planning permission by Harrogate Borough Council.
The brand is investing over £10million into the new aparthotel, which is scheduled to open in summer 2021. With 98 apartments planned, from smart studios to luxury penthouses, Roomzzz Harrogate will give guests the comfort of a boutique hotel with the convenience of a serviced apartment and has been designed to provide all the comforts of home combined the space needed to truly relax and unwind.
Working alongside architect and landscape architects BDP, Roomzzz Harrogate aims to build on the success of its existing seven aparthotels including Chester, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle and Nottingham, with each apartment individually designed to create a spacious, well-planned living area. They’re fully-equipped for day-to-day living, with fitted kitchens, broadband and widescreen TV. The latest edition to the portfolio will also boast a state-of-the-art gym, coffee shop, meeting rooms, the unique attention to detail and unrivalled customer service guests are used to with Roomzzz.

Over the last 10 years, Roomzzz’s expansion plans have gone from strength-to-strength, leading to the brand securing over £75million in its development pipeline for the next 18 months, which include new properties being built in York, Manchester, London and Edinburgh

From our visitors and competitors at the Great Yorkshire Show, to delegates and exhibitors for the Yorkshire Event Centre and Pavilions of Harrogate, the addition of 98 rooms for overnight accommodation will take us up to the next level.”
The Great Yorkshire Showground is situated off Railway Road, just a stone’s throw from one of the country’s most beautiful town’s and is host to nearly 700 events throughout the year, including the agricultural Great Yorkshire Show, fairs, trade shows, business conferences and wedding receptions. The Showground receives approximately half a million visitors each year, with events generating £47 million for the local economy.
